Ernie Irvan celebrating 25 years of winning the Daytona 500

ernie+irvanErnie Irvan will be celebrating 25 years since winning the Daytona 500 this year at the Daytona 500 race scheduled for Sunday, February 21st at Daytona International speedway. Nascar will honor Irvan

Irvan is a retired American stock car racing driver. A former competitor in NASCAR, he is best remembered for his comeback after a serious head injury at Michigan International Speedway. He is inducted in numerous halls of fame and was named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998.

 

In February 1991, Irvan drove the Morgan-McClure Chevrolet to victory in the Daytona 500, stock car racing‘s most prestigious and then most lucrative race. After a series of concussions in the late 1990s, Irvan retired from racing in 1999

Austin Hill teams up with Empire Racing and Grumpy’s Performance

K&N driver, Austin Hill, has once again teamed with Empire Racing Group and Grumpy’s Performance. Team organizers have been working on a 3-race deal to carry both Hill and team ERG to finish the 2015 year race season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Hill will field Empire Racing’s Ford F-150 truck in the NCWTS events at Talladega on October 24th and Martinsville on October 31st.  ERG will support Breast Cancer Awareness Month for both racing events.

Also on-board at Talladega and Martinsville will be, Doug Herbert’s, “Putting on the B.R.A.K.E.S” defense driving school foundation.
